Urban Agriculture Information Sessions

Are you a community gardener, urban grower, small-scale niche farmer, student or simply someone with an interest in urban agriculture? We value your contribution and invite you to join us at the USDA Farm Service Agency Urban Agriculture Session. By attending this session, you can gain insights into the Virginia Urban Agriculture Initiative, discover how you can contribute to advancing urban agriculture through the Urban Agriculture County Committee, and learn the best practices for starting your journey with Farm Service Agency as an urban producer. This presentation holds the potential to significantly enhance your work, whether you are a student, farmer, gardener or other grower.

National Urban Agriculture Conference

Our Virginia project is part of the National Urban Agriculture Initiative funded by FSA and led by Virginia State University in partnership with Cornell Cooperative Extension, our Center, and TIME Inc. A National Urban Agriculture Conference will be held August 4-6, 2024 in Detroit, Michigan. Visit the conference website for more information.

We will host six regional urban agriculture convenings across Virginia to build relationships, increase knowledge, and grow capacity to increase urban agriculture activity from farm-to-table with increased use of FSA and USDA programs/resources
