Southern SARE offers competitive grants as the primary tool of its programming. These grants are available for academics, producers, and ag professionals to explore a variety of sustainable agriculture topics and improve community, conservation and the profitability of farms. Graduate students must be enrolled full time; their projects must address sustainable agriculture issues of current and potential importance to the Southern region.

For agricultural professionals who currently and regularly work with farmers and ranchers.

 

For farmers and ranchers or farmer organizations.

 

For academic institutions and organizations, such as non-profits and non-governmental organizations, who are interested in conducting education and outreach activities for the benefit of the greater sustainable ag community, and promote efforts in farmer innovations, community resilience, business success, agricultural diversification, and best management practices.

 

For ag professionals and ag educators who work directly with farmers and ranchers.

 

For teams of interdisciplinary researchers that encourage a systems approach in sustainable agriculture.
